Our blog has moved to homeschoolden.com. This is the older version of our blog... which shared the homeschooling adventures of our kids who were 8 (LD), 6 (DD) and 3 1/2 (ED) (and the years up until then!). If you are looking for all our science and history packets (and math/language arts/etc!!) -- you'll find them at our new home! homeschoolden.com

DD is learning a couple of new poems from a very old book we own from 1904 called the Value of Cheerfulness. We both like these poems and I thought I'd share them with you all. And since the poems are inspiring, why not some awe-inspiring art (left). I love, love, love Albert Bierstadt's sweeping landscapes of the American West.
They might not need me--
Yet they might--
I'll let my heart be
Just in sight.
A smile so small
As mine might be
Necessity. ---By Emily Dickinson
It is easy enough to be happy When Life flows by like a song, But the man worth while Is the man with a smile When everything goes dead wrong. --- Anon.
