I have a 5 1/2 year old who has gone from simple words like cat to reading just about everything she can get her hands on (labels, signs, movie covers, cereal boxes, etc) in 8 months using one of the hooked on phonics programs. There are 5 levels and each one comes in a box with a workbook, reader books, cassette tape, and flash cards, sticker charts, and flash cards for the phonograms. I got the whole set, plus 5 levels of hooked on Math for $30 at a yard sale! Like your examples, it starts from letter sounds, moves to the common word families (at, ap, etc) and progresses forward. The book stories are hilarious too. I loved the full options, but being able to set our own pace. My daughter FLEW through them, she has just started level five and I now have to tell her it's rude to read my emails over my shoulder! ha ha. Good luck on the move!Redbrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11684992556891650308noreply@blogger.com
