Theme Time: Princess

With two girls, we have lots of princess things
around. Since it really appeals to the girls, I see
no reason not to tap into their interests. So from bugs,
frogs and the outdoors one day--to princesses the next!

At any rate, the princess theme was a big hit
especially the wooden castle which DD painted
and the princess numbers/beads. We did lots of
building, puzzle making, read lots of princess books
and things like that.

  1. I love your theme ideas. I don't think I could possibly fit another thing into our days but I am hoping to try this for over the holiday break. Thanks for the inspiration.

  2. Thanks for the nice words Kylie! It's working well for us because I needed more activities/puzzles/special games/bonding with ED (in particular). We had been doing many Montessori activities, but that was feeling "old" to me. That's always my indication that I need to come at things from another angle! This has been a refreshing change.

Have a great day (to you and everyone)!

  4. Hi Kylie,

Which holidays are you working on? I've been getting a couple things ready for Easter (I made up a little logic game for the older two and I also made up a hundred bunnies square--for doing place value counting to the hundreds) and will share those soon. Also, I saw that Confessions of a Homeschooler has some Easter numbers and such for the young preschoolers.

... I was interrupted, came back and then visited your blog. Wow! What a wonderful blog. I'm definitely going to spend time catching up on your latest activities!!

Better get off the computer and help everyone get ready. We're going outbush with friends today. Should be fun!
    Have a great day!

  6. Thank you so much for your kind comments! It looks like our 'school' activities will be slowing down as the crunch of moving increases. I spend hours today putting together 'for sale' lists. The kids were so good while I took pictures and tried to get things compiled. (We have to sell most everything electronic b/c they have different plugs here.) Anyway, all that is to say that I sure know what you mean about the time crunch! (I'm long winded, don't you think?!!)
